French Cleat Tool Wall Move and Update // Woodworking Shop Organization

Hey everyone! Released my French Cleat Tool Wall follow-up video today. In this video I show you how I take down my wall for my shop move. The french cleat panels was a brilliant move as it made moving a breeze. I was able to take down my panels one by one and reuse the same Fast Cap screws. In fact I used the same amount of screws and had some left over after completing all 5 new panels. My new shop is a tad bit bigger than my old one as well as higher ceilings. The bottom of my wall has concrete which pushed the cleat panels up about 2 1/2 feet. The little extra space now feels like a ton of extra space and I plan on utilizing every inch of it. Once i had all my panels removed I transported them to my new shop, unloaded and then eventually began figuring out how I would situate the panels. I concluded that I could fit 5 panels on the wall so I purchased additional 3/4 inch pure bond plywood from Home Depot and got to work. I had 2 of the original panels up fairly quick but I did not document that. Once I picked up my plywood, I decided to keep it all in one piece instead of a top and bottom panel. I just about foot off the bottom since I didn’t want the panel going all the way to the ceiling. Once the sheet was at the height that I wanted I ripped down all my french cleats using 45 degrees at the table saw. 14 cleats per panel. The pure bond birch plywood was superb. All the pieces matched perfectly. I ordered my plywood online and was really impressed with Home Depot picking out such nice pieces. Stellar service and stellar results. So just as before, I used glue and brad nails and this has proven to be an awesome combination. I finished up the last 2 panels and I had to cut a little off the edge of the last panel to fit it in the corner but it fit like a glove. As I said I used all existing Fast Cap screws and lined up my screw holes with the studs in the wall. Once I had all the panels installed, I immediately created a few holders that I needed. In the video I demonstrate making the chisel holder. I hope you enjoy the video. Please subscribe, comment and ask any questions during your own cleat wall build. Thanks for watching!!
